Terrorism
Insurance
As a result of the September 11th terrorist attacks in New York and Washington,
Acuret has begun offering a stand-alone terrorism product with coverage placed
100% with Lloyd's underwriters.
Acuret is bringing capacity for terrorism cover to a commercial market in turmoil.
Companies have displayed varying reactions to this situation and Acuret’s objective
is to provide a simple and efficient insurance solution against the risk of
terrorism.
This product is aimed at small to mid-sized businesses across Canada that have
had their insurance programs affected by September 11. The product includes
cover for business interruption and direct damage property. With most insurers
excluding terrorism cover from their standard property packages, Acuret has
created capacity for terrorism cover. This stand-alone policy is available with
a minimum premium of $500.00 and deductibles starting at $1,000.00.
The Definition of Terrorism is broad enough to include religious, political
or ideological terrorism. Certain specified occupancies are excluded from coverage
and a maximum limit of $5,000,000 per location is available. Higher limits and
a sample policy wording are available upon request.
